Job Description
Technology Manager Job Summary
The Senior Technology Solutions Specialist will be responsible for verifying that the IT landscape supports the property's business goals safely, securely, and effectively.
This integral role requires key information technology and computer science skills to enhance escalated support for property IT infrastructure and hardware, including repairs, installations, maintenance of systems for designated property/properties.
The incumbent will assist the Area IT Manager in identifying and forecasting future technology needs and provide input into budgetary proposals for capital expenditures.
A key responsibility of this role is to collaborate with various technology vendors to validate that property IT solutions meet the needs of guests, associates, owners, and property leaders.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, combined with 2-4 years of experience in Information Technology or a related professional area.
Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related major, along with 2 years of relevant experience, may also be considered.
Four-year degrees in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related majors are also highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior hospitality system-related experience and professional certifications are desired but not mandatory.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technology needs within budget targets.
They will assist and/or provide input to IT Leadership for capital expenditures (CAPEX) and department operating budget based on anticipated IT projects and property requirements, including anticipated ROI on technology investments.
The incumbent will analyze and assess current IT landscape on property and prepare estimates for necessary technology upgrades and improvements to meet those business needs.
They will evaluate and verify that each area of responsibility is in compliance with appropriate Marriott International Policies (MIPs).
The Senior Technology Solutions Specialist will implement solutions as directed to resolve IT discrepancies.
They will order required equipment as directed relating to personal computers, telecommunications, local servers, and networks, and process vendor invoices.
The incumbent will conduct periodic inventories of applications and hardware; prepare reports for property management as requested.
They will analyze and validate that technology assets are secured; document and escalate all identified security risks in accordance with applicable MIP.
The successful candidate will comply with technology-related vendor contracts.
Building and Sustaining Relationships
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Technology Solutions Specialist will write and present proposals, analyses, project plans, cost models, etc., in written and/or oral formats.
They will provide customer service to property leadership and associates at dedicated property/properties.
The incumbent will respond to inquiries from customers/vendors/peer group.
They will provide detailed status reports as requested, coordinate 3rd party vendor management, and escalation support.
The Senior Technology Solutions Specialist will ensure client technology needs are met.
They will assist in disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
The incumbent will provide technical guidance for assigned locations.
They will escalate support for all Marriott-approved technology solutions (i.e., mobility devices, GPNS) & Request Center Processes through Tier Escalation process.
The Senior Technology Solutions Specialist will provide escalation and guidance to property pertaining to guest & associate internet access requirement.
They will escalate problems as appropriate through direct supervisor, US/Can IT Field, and/or Global IT resources.
Technical Skills
The successful candidate should have experience with desktop support, server administration, network configuration, and software installation.
They should also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
