Position Summary

The role involves delivering and coordinating comprehensive patient care, education, and emotional support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough, individualized assessments of patients, documenting and prioritizing data collection based on their immediate and ongoing needs.
  • Develops and implements tailored care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the patient population.
  • Provides personalized education to patients and families relevant to their healthcare needs.
  • Monitors and interprets patients' cardiac rhythms according to established protocols, promptly reporting any signs of deterioration to the medical team.
  • Administers medications accurately using the Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) system.
  • Demonstrates expertise in executing life-saving interventions in accordance with adult resuscitation guidelines.
  • Engages in continuous learning by familiarizing oneself with new equipment, medications, and nursing practices through in-service training.
  • Initiates and applies relevant core measures and clinical protocols.
  • Follows strict infection control measures, including hand hygiene and protocols for preventing hospital-acquired infections.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations and current patient safety standards.
  • Ensures comprehensive discharge instructions and medication reconciliation, including necessary follow-up referrals.
  • Assists with bedside procedures as needed.
  • Mentors new nursing staff as assigned.
  • Performs additional duties as required within the scope of nursing practice.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is required, bilingual candidates are preferred.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

  • Active RN license in New Jersey or a multi-state compact license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or MSN is preferred.
  • Preferred experience of 6 months to 1 year in a healthcare environment.
  • BLS certification from an AHA-approved program.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Specialty certifications and IV certification are preferred; competency in arrhythmia recognition is required within 6 months of employment.
  • New nursing graduates must participate in the onsite Nursing Residency Program.
