We are in search of a qualified Surgical Services Nurse to enhance our team and support our vision of providing superior healthcare. The successful candidate will possess expertise in various surgical interventions and demonstrate a strong dedication to patient safety and infection prevention.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement effective hand hygiene protocols to mitigate the risk of hospital-acquired infections
- Adapt care strategies for diverse patient demographics, including young adults, seniors, and other age groups
- Prepare necessary instruments and materials for each surgical procedure
- Conduct perioperative assessments and maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients and their families in a clear and comprehensible manner
- Manage workload efficiently and prepare for specific surgical interventions
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping techniques
- Handle surgical specimens with precision and maintain thorough documentation
- Ensure cleanliness and functionality of equipment post-procedure
- Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control measures
- Exhibit proficiency in surgical methods, tools, and supplies
- Collaborate with inventory management for effective supply control
- Organize and prepare materials for future surgical cases
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 1-2 years of experience in a surgical environment
- Valid Nursing License in New Jersey
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA approved)
- CNOR certification is advantageous
