Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Banquet Manager to join our team at JW Marriott Dallas Arts District. As a key member of our event management team, you will assist in leading the banquet staff and executing events to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain attendance logs for banquet employees and enforce established sanitation levels.
  • Ensure employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores.
  • Order supplies for the department, including china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs.
  • Use banquet beverage 'Use' records to guide the banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs and managing the banquet beverage perpetual inventory.
  • Assist in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.
  • Participate in and assist in leading banquet teams, including attending and participating in all pertinent meetings.
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.
  • Apply and continually broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting-edge cuisine, and overall event presentation.
  • Provide and ensure exceptional customer service, setting a positive example for guest relations and empowering employees to provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
