Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostics team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound imaging and related procedures in various areas, including OB/GYN, abdomen, pediatric extremities, and vascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform exams following modality-specific protocols to produce high-quality images using appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of modality-specific ancillary equipment, including laser cameras, fluoroscopic equipment, and contrast injectors.
  • Appropriately store, handle, and administer modality-specific contrast agents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient data, including patient history, exam title, and modality-specific questionnaires and screening tools.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions and minimizing anxiety.
  • Apply safety principles to minimize risks to patients, self, and others.
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessment and provide pre- and post-procedure patient education.
  • Assist with modality-specific QA/QC procedures and maintain assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Participate in modality-specific PI Plans and contribute to the efficient operation of the department through communication and training.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an A.M.A.-approved school of Sonography.
  • RDMS or ARRT (S) certification strongly preferred; unregistered sonographers must be registered within one year of hire date.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires some manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will be exposed to some occupational risk, very heavy effort, and some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
