Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in various areas, including OB/GYN, abdomen, pediatric extremities, and vascular procedures.
  • Demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by licensed practitioners.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
  • Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.
  • Participate in modality-specific QA/QC procedures to ensure equipment operates within manufacturers' and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned areas, ensuring all rooms are clean, stocked with supplies, and meet standards set by each modality.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the department through communication with lead technologists, training equipment, patients, and other staff members.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an A.M.A.-approved school of Sonography.
  • RDMS or ARRT (S) certification strongly preferred; unregistered sonographers must be registered within one year of hire date.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
