Key Responsibilities- Security and Compliance: Oversee the execution of security measures to ensure timely scans of network resources, software patches, and DISA STIG compliance controls.
- Server Administration: Provide effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of production Linux Servers in a VMWare Virtualized Environment.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Responsible for daily system monitoring, security, server health, resources, and log management of Linux and Windows systems.
- Problem-Solving and Communication: Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis, including troubleshooting hardware, system configurations, backups, file systems, and user access. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and assign a contact scoring grade of good, marginal, or fail.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance: Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and be able to obtain SCI within 3 months of start.
- Education and Experience: Level 2: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 or more years of relevant experience. Level 3: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Familiar with satellite operations, satellite communications terminology, Linux/UNIX system administration, Microsoft Server network protocols, and DOD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification.
- TS/SCI with SAP Caveat: TS/SCI with SAP caveat is desired.
- Virtualization and Remote Desktop: Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, remote desktop, remote computer management, or equivalent.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to problem solve and think critically, sometimes independent of significant experience or documentation of the problem area.
