Crane Operator with Class A CDL (50+ Hours per Week)

As a crane operator at PTL Fabricators, LLC, your main duty will be to manage cranes and hoisting apparatus to lift, relocate, and position substantial materials, machinery, and equipment across various job sites, including construction zones and industrial facilities. Your role is vital in ensuring the safe and effective handling of materials, adhering to rigorous safety standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducting thorough inspections and pre-operation assessments of the crane and associated equipment to confirm they are in optimal working order prior to use.

2. Operating a variety of cranes, including tower cranes, mobile cranes, and overhead cranes, tailored to the specific demands of each project.

3. Analyzing and interpreting lifting plans, load charts, and job specifications to ascertain load capacities and lifting methodologies for each task.

4. Skillfully maneuvering the crane to lift and transport materials to designated areas while maintaining precise control and coordination.

5. Effectively communicating with signalers and other team members on-site to ensure seamless and safe crane operations.

6. Following safety regulations and industry standards to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment at the worksite.

7. Recognizing and addressing any mechanical issues or malfunctions of the crane, reporting them to the relevant personnel.

8. Keeping accurate records of crane operations, including loads lifted, distances traveled, and hours worked.

9. Collaborating with riggers and other crew members to ensure proper rigging and securing of loads prior to lifting.

10. Engaging in ongoing training and certification programs to remain current on the latest crane operation techniques and safety practices.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training or certification in crane operation.

2. Valid crane operator's license or certification from a recognized authority.

3. Demonstrated experience as a crane operator, showcasing the ability to operate various crane types safely and efficiently.

4. Familiarity with load charts and lifting capacities for different crane models.

5. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to crane operation.

6. Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and depth perception.

7. Physical fitness and strength to operate crane controls and perform necessary manual tasks.

8. Effective communication skills to clearly convey and receive instructions, ensuring smooth operations.

9. Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and occasionally in confined spaces.

10. Class A CDL Required

As a crane operator, you will be integral to the construction and industrial sectors, facilitating the movement of heavy materials and equipment. Your expertise and commitment to safety will contribute significantly to the successful execution of projects while ensuring the well-being of your colleagues and overall site safety.
