Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction and Curriculum Design:
    Conduct engaging lectures and practical training sessions covering essential topics such as medical office procedures, medical terminology, billing practices, and relevant software applications.
  • Revise and enhance the curriculum to reflect current industry practices and standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that foster skill acquisition and knowledge retention.
  • Student Evaluation and Support:
    Assess student performance through various methods including exams, projects, and practical exercises.
  • Provide constructive feedback to facilitate student development and success.
  • Offer additional tutoring and academic advising to support students in achieving their educational and career objectives.
  • Compliance and Certification Readiness:

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS).
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in medical billing and coding.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
