Senior Manager, Investment Accounting Job Description

Recruiting Resources, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Investment Accounting to lead a small investment accounting team and drive automation and analytics projects to continuously improve processes for the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Finance leaders to ensure timely, efficient, and well-controlled investment accounting activities.
  • Lead a team of investment accounting professionals responsible for GAAP, Statutory, and Regulatory financial investment close.
  • Oversee the control environment related to investment accounting financial reporting functions, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure data governance of underlying investment accounting systems.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on team performance, issues, and accomplishments.
  • Develop and perform analytical procedures to assist senior management in understanding investment performance.
  • Monitor and adjust daily workload to ensure requirements are met effectively.
  • Ensure staff members are cross-trained for adequate coverage.
  • Serve as control owner for all investment accounting SOX controls.
  • Stay up-to-date on market conditions, investment strategies, and regulatory guidance.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • 6+ years of related experience and 3+ years of indirect or direct people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Fixed Income, Structured Products, and NAIC SVO filing is highly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interface with senior management across the finance leadership team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and process improvement experience.
  • Strong data and technology skills are preferred.
  • A strong attention to detail while being able to see how details impact larger strategic objectives.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • PAM experience is a plus.
  • Big 4 Accounting experience is a plus.
