Senior Investment Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investment Accounting Specialist to join our team at Consultative Search Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing the books and records of investment legal entities, working closely with offshore and onshore teams to provide reporting and analysis to tax, fund accounting, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure investment legal entities are accounted for in accordance with governing legal and tax documents.
- Review and analyze deal structure charts, translating information into fund flows schedules and deal-structure setup in accounting systems.
- Work with the tax department to identify tax holdback requirements before transferring proceeds upstream to parent fund entities.
- Collaborate with the offshore team and fund accounting to ensure appropriate investment funding allocations are used for multi-fund deals and/or funds with investment restrictions.
- Review calculation of allocations by partner class, including identification of entity expenses specific to electing blocker partners versus other partner types.
- Review and approve wires for investment fundings, entity seedings, and upstreams.
- Review quarterly and annual books for investment legal entities, including reconciliation of the trial balance, economic allocations, and ownership splits for each entity in the deal structure.
- Coordinate with funds' internal tax group and external tax preparers to prepare support for various tax filings and reporting.
- Monitor, reconcile, and report on blocker notes or third-party debt that may be part of deal structures.
- Provide oversight and training to the Legal Entity Accounting team in preparing and maintaining the books and records of investment legal entities.
- Review GP and Alternative Investment Fund profit and loss allocation, capital activity, and capital balance reconciliations and analyses for the funds.
- Contribute to process and technology improvement projects related to the above tasks.
- 9+ years' relevant experience in public or private accounting or tax.
- Strong knowledge of private credit or private equity fund strategies/investments.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively individually and as a team.
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
- Familiarity with tiered partnership structures and basic legal entity and LP-level tax considerations.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent work ethic.
- Great organizational skills and ability to handle complicated work efficiently and effectively.
- Takes initiative to ask questions and detect problems.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively individually and as a team.
- Ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Tiered partnership taxation experience and Geneva/GWI experience are a plus but not required.
