Job Title: Health Educator I or II

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Health Educator I or II to join our team. As a Health Educator, you will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness in our community.

Job Summary:

The Health Educator I or II will provide health education interventions to patients, primarily one-on-one interactions in a clinic setting, group classes, and community-based education and outreach. The successful candidate will be able to creatively engage patients in preventive health education and health promotion activities to improve patient health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health education programs and materials for patients and community members.
  • Provide health education interventions, including one-on-one counseling, group classes, and community-based education and outreach.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure comprehensive care and services.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with community groups and organizations to increase accessibility and availability of resources for patients.
  • Conduct health education needs assessments and develop plans to address identified needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in health education, public health, or a related field.
  • Experience in patient health counseling, educating small and large groups, and engaging difficult-to-engage populations.
  • Ability to develop curriculum and educational materials.
  • Travel is part of this job duty, so a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is strongly preferred.
