About the Role

The State of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent - Operational Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payments to contractors, reconciling payment and balance records, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Invoice and Payment Tracking: Set up and maintain an efficient invoice and payment tracking system to ensure timely and accurate payments to contractors.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile payment and balance records to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Payment Processing: Send payment packets to the Administrative Services Division (ASD) for processing.
  • Customer Service: Provide effective customer service to internal and external customers, including intra- and inter-departmental stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and/or warehouse clerking.
  • Experience: Proven experience working in the State of NM SHARE system, purchasing, and providing good customer service.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This role is performed in an office setting with extensive personal computer and telephone usage. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Driver's License and be able to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
