Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Evaluation Specialist II to join our team at Health Research, Inc. (HRI). As a key member of our Laboratory Analysis Follow-up Team, you will play a critical role in coordinating disease surveillance and laboratory data quality activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and monitor HIV laboratory reporting to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting
  • Maintain, modify, and develop analytic code to evaluate laboratory data
  • Review laboratory reports, identify deficiencies in the data, and follow-up with laboratories
  • Coordinate activities related to the public health reporting approval process and recruitment of newly permitted laboratories
  • Provide technical assistance to labs on the New York State rules and regulations for reporting
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience in the evaluation and/or analysis of health, human services, or related programs and/or fields
  • OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience
  • OR six years of such experience
  • A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public health surveillance and/or HIV/AIDS surveillance and working with confidential data
  • Experience with analysis using epidemiological principles and methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and SAS or other statistical software packages
  • Experience with large, population-based, and other health-related data sets (e.g., SPARCS, ECLRS) or disease registries
