Project Controls Specialist

The Project Controls Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects by implementing and maintaining robust project controls processes. These processes are designed to monitor, measure, and manage key aspects of the project, including cost, schedule, and risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain controls to monitor project cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Implement controls around internal processes, including RFIs, Submittals, 3-Phase inspections, and other key project documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
Monitoring and Measurement:
  • Continuously monitor project performance to identify variances from the plan.
  • Measure progress against established baselines for cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Track the timely processing and resolution of RFIs, Submittals, and 3-Phase inspections, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Corrective Actions and Adjustments:
  • Propose and implement corrective actions to address deviations from the project plan.
  • Propose adjustments to project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans as needed to bring projects back on track.
Change Controls:
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, or cost by ensuring changes are properly documented, evaluated, and approved before implementation.
  • Track and report on the impact of changes on the overall project.
Reporting and Compliance:
  • Generate regular project performance reports.
  • Prepare project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with established project controls processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
  • Work closely with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure project controls are aligned with project objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in project controls and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in construction or engineering projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead project controls efforts.
