Position Title: Residential Counselor
Department: Adult Disabilities Services
Supervisor: Residential Coordinator
Employment Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Midweek and Weekend Shifts Available
Position Overview: As a Residential Counselor, you will operate under the supervision of the Residential Coordinator, assisting individuals in cluster homes to achieve personal development and community involvement as per their support plans. Your role will focus on delivering high-quality care and collaborating with community partners to significantly improve the lives of those you support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in supervision sessions to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for all individuals
- Maintain necessary certifications and comply with program policies and state regulations
- Contribute to a tidy and safe living environment for residents
- Assist individuals with daily tasks and manage documentation and medication distribution
- Advocate for the needs and preferences of individuals in accordance with their Individual Support Plan
- Build meaningful connections and support individuals in participating in community activities
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience. Essential skills include strong communication abilities, a valid driver's license, physical endurance, and a commitment to ongoing learning. Proficiency in computer usage is advantageous. Training support, including MAP Certification, CPR, and First Aid, will be provided.
