Key Responsibilities:

The Facility Maintenance Painter will:

  • Work under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor to assist in the upkeep and repair of hospital properties.
  • Complete assigned maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance in a timely manner, reporting any challenges to the supervisor.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Contribute to reducing maintenance and utility expenses through enhanced operational practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Exhibit professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Adapt work schedules as necessary to meet departmental needs.
  • Work overtime when approved or requested by the supervisor.
  • Plan vacations and personal time off with prior supervisory consent.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Trade school experience is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Ability to perform minor electrical, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly in work order systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • General knowledge of hospital support equipment or a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in commercial construction or industrial painting for at least three years is preferred, along with a minimum of one year in a hospital facilities department.
