Job Overview:

The EMS Laboratory Instructor plays a crucial role in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program, providing direct oversight during designated class sessions when students engage in skills practice and assessments. Instructors are assigned to specific stations and activities by the lead instructor for each course.

The responsibilities of the laboratory instructor include the following:

1. Delivering training or retraining on skills in accordance with the standards outlined in the current curriculum, tailored to the students' proficiency levels and the skill sheets utilized by the program. While some individual technique variations may be acceptable, it is essential that instruction aligns with lecture content. The lead instructor will determine the acceptability of specific variations, subject to final approval by the Program Director and/or medical director.
2. Ensuring that psychomotor and affective competencies are assessed based on established criteria, with necessary documentation completed.
3. Overseeing the proper management of equipment and supplies to ensure the safety of both students and faculty, as well as the safeguarding of valuable resources. Any equipment damage must be reported to the lead instructor. Supplies should only be used for immediate laboratory activities and must not be removed from the institution. All equipment and supplies must be securely stored at the end of each session, and used materials must be disposed of correctly, including biohazardous and sharp items.
4. Restocking equipment and supplies as required.
5. Ensuring the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the skills being taught.
6. Performing additional duties as assigned.
7. Completing the College timesheet as instructed.

Compensation:
EMS Laboratory Instructor hourly rate schedule:
Certificate: $26.75
Associate Degree: $27.82
Bachelor's Degree: $28.89
This is a part-time position, limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week, and does not qualify for health or leave benefits. However, it may provide educational benefits through professional development and educational assistance policies.

EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or RN with relevant EMS field experience. Demonstrated expertise in the field and completion of at least one recertification cycle at the current certification level.
Proven academic excellence and subject matter expertise, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or an associate degree. Preferred Qualifications:

Paramedic license preferred.
Experience in educational or training roles is preferred.
