Job Summary

The Weekend Supervisor is a key member of the Nursing Department, responsible for overseeing the weekend functions of the department. This role reports directly to the Director of Health Services and Assistant Director of Health Services, and is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality care is maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing nursing service department programs and activities
  • Make written and oral reports to the ADHS/DHS as necessary, concerning the operation of the nursing service department
  • Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care
  • Complete nursing admission assessments and baseline care planning for new admissions
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of skilled documentation
  • Supervise and assist with resident care according to assessed resident status and established plan of care
  • Participate in development, revision, and implementation of resident care plans
  • Participate in survey and mock-survey campus preparedness
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
Requirements
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Must be able to make independent decisions concerning job duties
  • Must possess ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, vendors, and the general public
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
Qualifications
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid state LPN/RN license and current, valid CPR certification
