Job Summary

The Clinical Resource and Education Nurse is a highly experienced registered nurse who works with newly hired nurses through their first year to facilitate and evaluate learning immediately following the completion of a successful clinical orientation. They will partner to foster safe, competent practice as well as strengthen confidence in the clinical arena while building and facilitating a trusting relationship with teammates, physicians, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as a resource for accessing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates completion of the initial competencies' checklist.
  • Responds to phone calls within 15 minutes.
  • Acts as a resource and assists with the technical training of new equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Serves as a super user for various processes or new equipment.
  • Maintains competence to provide and/or assist with clinical care.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of pediatric experience.
  • Master degree in nursing or related field.
  • Formal mentor.
  • Formal Peer Supporter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate from accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing or higher.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • BLS certification required.
  • PEARS or PALS Certification required.
  • Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated competence in critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Enthusiastic customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using and navigating technology tools such as electronic medical record, Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management System (LMS).
