Overview of Your Responsibilities

The role of Customer Technical Support is dynamic and customer-focused. Your daily activities will involve assisting clients, addressing their inquiries, diagnosing technical challenges, and offering expert guidance. Collaborate with teams across various locations, both in-person and virtually.

Key Contributions

Assist the Siemens Energy Industrial Application steam turbine technical services sector by formulating inspection strategies, analyzing results, crafting repair proposals, aiding in workshop repairs, and documenting findings for existing machinery. Revise fleet documentation to accurately represent steam turbine and valve specifications. Manage technical service inquiries by examining fleet data and responding to questions from both internal and external stakeholders. Deliver technical guidance and oversight for root cause analysis. Aid in providing inspection and repair estimates to the marketing team. Offer technical directives to manufacturing, supply chain management, or field service teams regarding product discrepancies. Lead or assist in steam turbine research and development initiatives by executing calculations, ensuring timely issuance of drawings, and completing tasks within budgetary constraints. Provide revisions and details to drafting personnel to ensure accurate updates to existing engineering schematics or the creation of new designs. Review, amend, and approve engineering drawings. Supply technical instructions to field teams to support turbine installation or troubleshooting efforts. Share knowledge with colleagues and learn from their expertise. Contribute to business cost-saving and process enhancement projects.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary, including at least 1 year in technical engineering related to rotating equipment. A solid grasp of mechanical engineering principles is essential; candidates with additional experience may qualify for a more senior role. A problem-solving mindset and the capability to work collaboratively with both internal and external partners to develop solutions. Familiarity with rotating equipment products and an understanding of product design. Knowledge of root cause analysis processes and a desire to develop customer-centric solutions. Willingness to travel approximately 25%, both domestically and internationally, with the ability to obtain a passport. Flexibility to work during off-hours and weekends as needed to support continuous operations. Must be prepared to relocate if not within commuting distance of key operational sites. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the design of rotating equipment, particularly steam turbines. Background in reliability, manufacturing, design, or operations related to rotating equipment.
