Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in Revenue Accounting to enhance our expanding Revenue Accounting division.

In this position, you will report to the Manager of Revenue Accounting. Your responsibilities will include the development and enforcement of processes, policies, and procedures to guarantee the precision of accounting and reporting. You will play a crucial role in the financial month-end closing and reporting activities by managing intricate journal entries for the organization. Collaborating with key business stakeholders and finance partners, you will provide accounting expertise across all functional areas while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries with appropriate documentation for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes related to revenue accounting, including billed revenue, recognized versus deferred revenue, and financial statements.
  • Conduct thorough contract reviews for non-standard terms and apply ASC-606 principles to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Calculate current expected credit losses (CECL) and specific revenue reserves.
  • Assist in the implementation of the SAP BRIM billing system, including the transition from legacy billing systems.
  • Prepare various reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, ensuring adequate supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial management reports.
  • Analyze and document fluctuations in the income statement and balance sheet on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate with teams across different departments and locations to gather and disseminate financial information.
  • Support both external and internal audit activities as required.
  • Review and enhance analytical processes and controls.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key business partners.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting or financial reporting environment.
  • Proficient understanding of ASC-606 principles.
  • At least 2 years of experience in revenue accounting adhering to ASC-606 guidelines.
  • Experience in organizing substantial volumes of information and implementing automation tools and solutions.
  • Proficient in database tools and financial reporting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to conduct meetings effectively and explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for tasks, given the deadline-driven nature of the role.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business environments and organizational structures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with SAP and/or RAR.
  • Familiarity with billing system implementations and migrations.
  • Background in the telecommunications sector.
