Job Overview

Our client, a dynamic firm specializing in employee benefits consulting and brokerage, is in search of a seasoned Benefits Consultant to enhance their team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with clients to architect, execute, and oversee their employee benefit strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management of Employee Benefits: Oversee the implementation and daily administration of various employee benefit offerings, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary expert on benefits and related carrier products.
  • Renewal and Market Analysis: Lead the renewal process and conduct market surveys, including preparing RFPs, evaluating carrier proposals, and negotiating terms.
  • Plan Documentation Review: Ensure the accuracy of benefit plan summaries and carrier documents.
  • Client Relationship Development: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with multiple clients, actively participating in meetings and discussions.
  • Issue Resolution: Address claims, billing, and service-related concerns effectively.
  • Compliance Oversight: Provide guidance on compliance matters, interpreting plan rules to align with Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Project Facilitation: Lead client initiatives such as new business implementations and open enrollment campaigns.
  • Carrier Relationship Management: Maintain connections with carrier representatives to stay informed about available products and services.
  • Reporting and Strategy Development: Prepare detailed client reports, identify alternative strategies, and engage actively in client meetings.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, claims, and utilization reports, and develop projections for self-funded plans.
  • Trusted Advisor Role: Act as a reliable advisor to clients, providing strategic insights.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field.
