Job Summary

Cope Community Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist/Payroll to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on-time. Additionally, you will perform payroll-related functions, reporting, and general human resource duties, including answering employee questions and addressing/resolving employee concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processes, including data entry, processing, and reporting
  • Perform payroll-related functions, such as benefits administration and time-off management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Conduct new hire orientations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and benefits information
  • Assist with recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job openings and scheduling interviews

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Three years of experience in Human Resources, including experience working with a web-based payroll system (preferably Paycom)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
