Brunel is seeking a seasoned Operational Readiness Manager to support a megaproject in the energy sector. This is a long-term contract with potential for direct hire for the right candidate.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead readiness activities to ensure the safe and timely launch of operations. This involves developing and implementing a readiness plan, guiding the process with involvement from all relevant departments within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and track all tasks to prepare a facility for long-term operations, ensuring that activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Make day-to-day decisions to ensure that activities within the readiness plan are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage the execution of the readiness plan, coordinating various projects within it and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Work closely with department heads to monitor tasks, ensuring that the facility is prepared for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Collaborate with department leads to ensure the completeness and integration of new policies, procedures, manuals, and systems to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure the creation of an operational plan that outlines systems, processes, and procedures to manage company-wide operations.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to incorporate readiness requirements into project activities.
  • Facilitate peer reviews of the readiness plan during execution, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Identify and address potential issues with the readiness plan early, ensuring that the project stays on track.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, safety, health, environmental, and business continuity standards and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience required, with 5+ years of project management experience on large-scale projects.
  • Previous experience with the start-up of large energy-related facilities, such as LNG or oil & gas projects, and implementing readiness plans.
  • Familiarity with process systems during pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
  • Experience in operational readiness is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong technical expertise in process, start-up, and plant operations within large-scale energy facilities.
  • Knowledge of engineering systems, project management methods, and integration of business software for smooth operational functionality.
  • Extensive familiarity with industry standards, regulatory criteria, and administrative practices, including cost control and scheduling.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment such as PPE, safety harnesses, etc.
