Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Program Eligibility Specialist to join our team. Key Responsibilities:- Conduct face-to-face and phone interviews with applicants to determine eligibility
- Process verification needs and eligibility requests from parents
- Prepare childcare contracts, send Notice of Action, and Requests for Eligibility Verification
- Maintain files and ensure required documentation is on file
- Communicate information promptly to staff regarding enrollment changes, child placement changes, legal issues, etc.
- Attend internal and external meetings as approved and assigned for the purpose of family eligibility
- Review and provide feedback and technical assistance for waitlist applications
- Perform specific mathematical computations related to eligibility
- Enter data into approved software programs
- Maintain current data for assigned caseload and providers
- File and maintain documents in physical and electronic filing systems
- High school diploma required; two years of education and/or experience in Child Development, Social Science, Psychology, Human Development, Liberal Studies, or related field, and one year of work experience in client casework and/or client eligibility setting
- Ability to work accurately with numbers and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and be organized, self-motivated
- Associate's Degree preferred for Level I
- Bachelor's Degree preferred for Level II
This position requires working indoors in a temperature-controlled environment with some exposure to copier and printer chemicals/fumes.
Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel:This position requires flexibility to work out of different offices and work flexible schedules, including occasional evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
License & Certifications:Must have dependable, insured transportation and a valid CA driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:- Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire
- Must submit proof of current vaccination status for measles, pertussis, and influenza
- Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
- Must complete a health screening physical within 30 days prior to employment and a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray
- Employment is contingent upon meeting all job requirements and background requirements
