Automation Control Specialist

Under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager for Mechanical Trades, the Facilities Automation Control Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electric, electronic, pneumatic, and digitally controlled building automation systems that manage complex HVAC and refrigeration systems. This position involves monitoring, troubleshooting, designing, modifying, calibrating, and programming system features, as well as responding to technical and mechanical problems, either remotely or on-site.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electric, electronic, pneumatic, and digitally controlled building automation systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving technical and mechanical issues.
- Design, modify, and calibrate system features to meet facilities management goals.
- Program and configure system controls to optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with facilities management teams to ensure seamless system operation.
- Thorough understanding of electric, electronic, pneumatic, and digitally controlled building automation systems.
- Ability to use building automation system programming features to design, modify, and implement programs.
- Working knowledge of electrical voltage, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing codes, thermodynamics, and automated energy/environmental management systems.
- Ability to perform skilled electrical and plumbing work, as well as diagnose and repair refrigeration equipment.
- Four years of progressively responsible skilled journey-level experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large, complex, and sophisticated heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning, and water treatment systems.
