Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive plans for the advancement, monitoring, and assessment of solar energy systems.
- Execute engineering site evaluations to gather essential structural, electrical, and related information for the design of solar power solutions.
- Design or oversee the design of photovoltaic (PV) or solar thermal systems, ensuring compatibility with both residential and commercial infrastructures.
- Create detailed electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and connection diagrams for solar electric systems utilizing CAD software.
- Review technical specifications and suggest engineering or manufacturing modifications to meet solar design goals.
- Formulate design specifications and functional requirements for solar energy systems or components across various sectors.
- Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams during the installation, commissioning, and performance monitoring phases.
- Conduct computer simulations to analyze the performance and energy production of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to enhance efficiency.
- Establish standard operating procedures and quality or safety standards for solar installation projects.
- Develop checklists for the review and inspection of completed solar installation projects.
- Test and evaluate photovoltaic (PV) cells or modules to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform thermal, stress, or cost analysis for solar systems to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Assess electrical systems, products, components, and applications through the design and execution of research programs.
- Validate system and component capabilities by developing testing methodologies and evaluating properties.
- Design electrical products by analyzing customer requirements and researching manufacturing methods.
- Enhance manufacturing processes by modifying equipment for the assembly of electrical components.
- Ensure product quality through the development of electrical testing methods and thorough evaluation of finished products.
- Compile product reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information and trends.
- Provide engineering insights by addressing inquiries and requests.
- Uphold product and company reputation by adhering to federal and state regulations.
- Maintain operational equipment by following established procedures and requesting necessary repairs.
- Manage product databases through programming and data entry.
- Oversee project completion by mentoring and guiding technicians.
- Enhance professional knowledge by participating in educational workshops and reviewing industry publications.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in analytical or scientific software such as simulation software and MATLAB.
- Experienced with CAD software including Autodesk AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Skilled in database management using Microsoft Access.
- Familiar with development environments like National Instruments LabVIEW.
- Proficient in office software including Microsoft Office Suite.
