Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and oversee the financial activities of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct the accounting activities of the department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Manage the accounting staff responsible for billing and A/R, collections, A/P, and payroll.
  • Recruit and hire accounting and financial staff, conduct performance evaluations, and coordinate training programs.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Compile and draft monthly financial statements for review by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist in tracking grant expenditures and developing budgets for grant proposals.
  • Support audit preparation and ensure organizational readiness for audits throughout the year.
  • Contribute to the review and update of financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the budgeting process and financial forecasting to guide organizational planning.
  • Provide financial education and support to directors to enhance their understanding of financial matters.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements for accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Requirements
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • Blackbaud accounting software experience helpful.
  • At least 3 years of experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred but not required.
