Accounting Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at General Devices Co Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting functions and staff, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the general ledger, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
  • Prepare tax-related data for year-end, including 1099 and federal, state, and property returns
  • Assist management in preparing and maintaining the annual budget, tracking results monthly
  • Perform bank reconciliations, manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules, and conduct annual audits
  • Oversee the accounts receivable and payable functions, including credit policies and collections determinations
  • Review sales commissions and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sales totals to sales staff
  • Manage company credit card and card holder expense reports, and assist with sales margin review and cost analysis
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of strong general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Accounting degree preferred
  • Strong Excel, database, and data analysis skills, with experience in creating and using pivot tables
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Visual
  • Cost accounting knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment
What We Offer:

Starting salary range of $90,000-$105,000, based on competencies, with bonus potential for performance measures hit by the candidate and company. This is a full-time salary position requiring greater than 40 hours per week most weeks, with opportunity to grow into the Controller position for a motivated candidate.
