Job Description:The Department of Mathematics at Florida State University is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral research associate to join our team. The successful candidate will work in Dr. Sanghyun Lee's research group to develop numerical models for enhanced geothermal systems and geologic carbon storage. The postdoctoral research associate will also be expected to work closely with other scientists from partnering institutions and provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
Responsibilities:- Develop numerical models for enhanced geothermal systems and geologic carbon storage
- Work closely with other scientists from partnering institutions
- Provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics, computational science, subsurface engineering, or a closely related field. Strong programming skills in Python and C++ and prior experience with High-Performance Computing are also highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:- Numerical methods for partial differential equations
- Multiscale numerical methods
- Scientific machine learning
- Excellent programming skills in Python and C++
