Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in Applied Mathematics to join our research group at Florida State University. The successful candidate will work on developing numerical models for enhanced geothermal systems and geologic carbon storage, and will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers from five institutions.
Responsibilities:- Develop numerical models for enhanced geothermal systems and geologic carbon storage
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers from five institutions
- Provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students
- Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics, computational science, subsurface engineering, or a closely related field
- Experience in numerical methods for partial differential equations, multiscale numerical methods, scientific machine learning, and high-performance computing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Numerical methods for partial differential equations methods in porous media
- Multiscale numerical methods
- Scientific machine learning
- Excellent programming skills in Python and C++ and prior experience with High-Performance Computing
