Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Equipment Tech II to join our team at the North Texas Physical Management Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the construction, adaptation, modification, preventive maintenance, and repair of specialized adaptive equipment and wheelchairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct, modify, and repair seating systems and other projects using safe and cost-effective methods.
  • Assess the feasibility of in-house design and fabrication/modification of adaptive equipment.
  • Share new ideas and completed project designs with colleagues.
  • Provide quality assurance, including quality checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Promote safety, health, and well-being of employees and consumers.
  • Implement and monitor safety programs at the NTPMC.
  • Follow policies and procedures.
  • Ensure state property is accounted for and maintained in proper working condition.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of orthopedic equipment manufacture and maintenance work.
  • Understanding of anatomical terminology and occupational and physical therapy procedures.
  • Ability to train and supervise others.
  • Ability to prepare specifications and plan and organize repair and preventative maintenance programs.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds without assistance.

The successful candidate will work at the North Texas Physical Management Center, supervised by the NTPMC Supervisor with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
