We are currently seeking a Technical Lead / Principal Engineer to spearhead project management, ensure quality assurance and control, provide technical guidance, and foster staff development within our water market team in the Engineering division.

The water market at Harris & Associates encompasses potable water, wastewater, stormwater, and recycled water.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical dimensions of projects featuring complex elements specific to the water sector, such as pumping, conveyance, and storage.

Organize, plan, and coordinate the development of contract deliverables, including preliminary documents, construction drawings, and technical specifications for multiple significant projects.

Establish and nurture relationships with the water market engineering team at Harris, our clients, and the communities we serve.
Act as an internal and external subject matter expert.
Assist in crafting specific technical sections or strategic approaches for proposals related to new projects.
Utilize sound technical judgment in executing responsibilities and recognize when to seek guidance or conduct independent research.
Stay informed about local agency regulations, procedures, and design standards.
Engage effectively with peers and clients through both written and verbal communication.
Conduct research and prepare reports pertaining to project assignments.
Deliver presentations at client or Harris meetings.
Provide training and mentorship to staff.

Qualifications:
Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is required.
A Master's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
A Professional Engineering (PE) License in CA and other relevant states is required.
15+ years of pertinent experience in engineering within the water sector or a comparable field.
Ability to establish and adhere to budgets, schedules, work plans, and contract performance standards.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare project documentation and correspondence, interact effectively with team members, interface with clients, and occasionally deliver presentations.

Technical skills suitable for the type of projects assigned.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $180,000-$220,000, commensurate with the experience and expertise of the selected candidate. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
