Position Title: Paraeducator III (Early Childhood Special Education) - 6 hours/day
Role Summary: This role is designed for individuals who provide specialized instructional assistance to both individuals and groups of students with special educational needs or severe disabilities. The position is intended for those who have received training and are integrating significant para-professional health care services or behavioral interventions alongside instructional support.

Work Year Duration: 182 workdays annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $27.28 per hour, structured in 9 annual increments. Salary placement is determined by prior experience.
Location: Kohler Elementary
Working Hours: 6 hours per day, 5 days per week
Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Life Insurance are available for employees working 4 or more hours daily (Full district contribution for those working 6+ hours/day; 50% contribution for those working less than 6 hours/day).
Qualifications: Candidates typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, along with 48 college credit hours that are degree-eligible, plus a minimum of one year of experience in a classroom setting with students who have special needs. Additional college coursework may be considered to substitute for some experience. Relevant experience in instructional support or health care settings may also substitute for some post-secondary education.
Licenses and Certifications Required: A valid driver's license may be necessary. Candidates must possess a valid First-Aid card and CPR certification.
Required Documentation:
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate)
- NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or successful completion of the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
- Proof of High School Graduation (High School Diploma or High School Transcripts or equivalent (e.g., GED))
- Resume (Must clearly demonstrate required experience)
