Position Summary

The Clinical Support Nurse plays a vital role in providing nursing assistance within the Williamson Health Medical Group. This position involves effective communication of clinical information to patients and external entities, scheduling necessary tests and consultations, collecting clinical specimens, assessing patient conditions, performing clinical office tasks, and ensuring the availability of clinical supplies.


Position Requirements

Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred, along with a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution or an LPN license from the State of Tennessee.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is required.

Skills and Equipment Proficiency:

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in using medical equipment such as glucometers, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, computers, stethoscopes, audioscopes, and various medications (oral and injectable).


Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based.

Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to sit, stand, communicate effectively in English (both orally and in writing), and lift items weighing over 20 pounds.

Performance Expectations
  • Accurately document patients' medical histories and vital signs.
  • Administer immunizations and injections as necessary.
  • Provide health-related counseling to patients.
  • Manage and maintain clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
  • Coordinate referrals to additional medical services.
  • Facilitate consultations with specialists.
  • Triaging phone inquiries and addressing patient portal communications.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests.
  • Assist physicians with medical and surgical procedures.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and maintain quality assurance in office laboratory settings.
  • Implement proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Collaborate with pharmacies to ensure patients receive adequate medication supplies.
