_Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg Southside Medical Center:_
Job Responsibilities:
The Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing exceptional nursing care to patients by:
- Employing strong organizational and leadership abilities to assess patient conditions
- Delivering care to patients with both medical and surgical needs
- Executing clinical nursing interventions
- Possessing a diverse medical skill set
- Developing and implementing patient care plans to enhance outcomes
- Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
- Monitoring vital signs, administering IV medications, understanding documentation, and assessing patient conditions
- Managing a higher patient-to-nurse ratio effectively
- Evaluating, updating, and revising care plans to achieve desired outcomes
- Administering medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred
Experience:
- Prior RN experience in a similar nursing unit or Long-Term Care setting
Licensing & Certifications Required:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must be obtained prior to direct patient care)
