_Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg Southside Medical Center:_

Job Responsibilities:
The Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing exceptional nursing care to patients by:
  • Employing strong organizational and leadership abilities to assess patient conditions
  • Delivering care to patients with both medical and surgical needs
  • Executing clinical nursing interventions
  • Possessing a diverse medical skill set
  • Developing and implementing patient care plans to enhance outcomes
  • Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Monitoring vital signs, administering IV medications, understanding documentation, and assessing patient conditions
  • Managing a higher patient-to-nurse ratio effectively
  • Evaluating, updating, and revising care plans to achieve desired outcomes
  • Administering medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred

Experience:
  • Prior RN experience in a similar nursing unit or Long-Term Care setting

Licensing & Certifications Required:
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must be obtained prior to direct patient care)
