About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to join our Developmental and Behavioral Health team at Children's Mercy Kansas City. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients and families receive the highest quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive intake interviews with patients and caregivers to assess their needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Collaborate with clinical and support staff to ensure a smooth and timely process of information gathering, decision-making, and scheduling of new patients.
  • Identify patients at risk and address barriers to accessing behavioral health care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote self-advocacy and empowerment.
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health-related field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services) and 1-2 years' experience, or Bachelor's in a non-behavioral health-related field (Nursing, Criminal Justice) and 3-5 years' experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Licensure preferred: LBSW, LMSW, RN.
