The successful candidate will be based in Colorado and will collaborate closely with the Area Manager and Chief Estimator. This role is pivotal in overseeing all estimating functions for the Colorado division, with assistance from the estimating team located in another state. The ideal applicant will possess a comprehensive understanding of state specifications, demonstrate innovative thinking, and have a keen eye for detail, particularly in complex construction undertakings. Building strong relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers is crucial for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive estimating services for large-scale, intricate heavy civil construction projects.
- Develop project estimates ensuring all elements are accurately assessed, priced, and included in the final summary.
- Conduct site assessments and investigations to gather necessary data.
- Perform constructability analyses to identify potential challenges.
- Research construction methods, costs, and techniques to inform estimating processes.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years focused on estimating.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- A strong commitment to work ethics.
- Capability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with estimating software such as HCSS/HeavyBid.
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods, including Design-Build and CMGC.
