Overview:

The Coordinator for the Child Passenger Safety Program at Christus Health is tasked with managing the Child Passenger Safety Seat Program. This role involves overseeing the procurement of car seats, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring precise documentation of car seat distribution. The coordinator will also collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate the provision of specialized seating for children with unique needs.

Key responsibilities include data gathering, program assessment, reporting, and the preparation of grant applications. The coordinator will mentor new Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) and organize their schedules. As a certified CPST, the coordinator will deliver educational sessions on safety and injury prevention to parents, families, and caregivers, assisting them in selecting, purchasing, fitting, and installing child car seats. Additionally, the coordinator will partner with the Injury Prevention Coordinator to enhance the car seat safety program and engage in outreach initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory
  • Preferred experience in project research
  • Knowledge of program management, evaluation, and coordination is advantageous
  • Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician is essential
