Position Overview:
The Senior Energy Data Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the execution and support of utility and energy data analysis. This position encompasses the responsibilities of both Energy Analysts and Senior Energy Analysts, and requires frequent collaboration with the entire team, including leadership, to ensure all tasks are effectively completed. This is a supervisory role that demands strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Specific Duties Include:

  • Energy Procurement and Analytics
    • Oversee the gathering, organization, and analysis of utility consumption data and associated rates.
    • Ensure team members gain a thorough understanding of utility supply-side opportunities.
    • Facilitate the development of comprehensive knowledge regarding utility procurement logistics.
    • Guide team members in understanding potential utility energy efficiency rebate and incentive programs.
    • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of utility rate changes and trends in deregulated energy costs.
    • Supervise the completion of energy benchmarks.
    • Ensure meticulous review of utility invoices for errors and coordinate resolutions with utility providers.
    • Review utility budgets prepared by the team.
  • Energy Auditing
    • Assist in the collection, review, and analysis of data obtained from field surveys and utility data.
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of existing buildings and their mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
    • Support the identification and evaluation of opportunities for energy or cost savings.
    • Contribute to the creation of associated technical reports.

This is a Full-Time, Exempt position reporting to the Logic Director.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • At least one of the following certifications: CEM, CMVP, CEP, CEA, EEP, or BEP through the Association of Energy Engineers or an equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent multitasking capabilities, with the flexibility to perform tasks beyond the standard scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering Intern (EI) licensure.
  • Experience with energy modeling software.
  • Experience conducting life cycle cost analyses.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems.
  • Experience with energy efficiency programs.
  • Proficient in analyzing utility data.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Python, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, or R.

Travel Requirements:
Approximately 10% of time will be spent traveling to job sites or office locations.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
Responsibilities may include:

  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Climbing stairs in an office building.
  • Moving into various positions to accomplish tasks in diverse environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Remaining stationary for extended periods, either standing or sitting.
  • Moving about to complete tasks or transitioning between worksites.
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Assessing the accuracy and thoroughness of assigned work.
  • Working in varying temperatures and environments, both noisy and quiet.
  • Handling light work that may involve adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
