Child & Family Service is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services to Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE) students with disabilities.

Job Summary

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric services, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and educational team planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic and medication evaluations
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications at an appropriate dose
  • Monitor student response to medications and provide recommendations for interventions
  • Collaborate with educational team to develop interventions that promote academic success
  • Provide consultation to school personnel on behavioral management and mental health disorders
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in medicine with specialization in child-adolescent or family psychiatry
  • State of Hawaii MD license in good standing
  • Board certification in Child-Adolescent Psychiatry or Family Psychiatry (Across the Lifespan)
  • Over 3 years of psychiatry residency and additional 4 years' experience in child-adolescent psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with HIDOE students and local population in Hawaii
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and clinical training
Work Environment

Services are provided primarily via tele-psychiatry, with occasional travel to neighbor islands to see students face-to-face.
