Medical Care Specialist

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a skilled LPN to join our team in Elizabeth City. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medications, and observe and record patient reactions to treatments.
Responsibilities:
• Provides general nursing care to patients, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Observes, records, and reports patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
• Completes paperwork, including FMLA, disability, Home Health/Hospice, and transfusion orders.
• Screens patients for appropriate information and responds to incoming telephone calls.
• Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
Qualifications:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing. BSN preferred.
• Requires a minimum of two years experience as a practical nurse (with Central Line Care and IV skills) in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must be willing to travel between offices when needed.
