The Financial Services Customer Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in building relationships with members while fostering community development. This position involves initiating consumer loans in line with established lending policies. You will address both expressed and unexpressed member inquiries regarding various credit union loan products, whether in person or via phone. Additionally, you will actively promote and cross-sell credit union offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

All duties must be performed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Board of Directors and the regulations established by the National Credit Union Administration and the State of Florida.

  • Enhance sales and service through exceptional member interactions. Strive for a positive member experience while achieving sales and referral targets across a diverse range of products, including banking, insurance, and investment services.
  • Develop a portfolio by proactively seeking opportunities to strengthen and expand member relationships, contributing to the success of the financial center.
  • Maximize productivity through commitment, effective listening, attention to detail, and flexibility to meet the needs of members and the financial center.
  • Engage in continuous learning to enhance your financial knowledge, sales skills, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Perform all functions of a Member Service Representative.
  • Conduct interviews with loan applicants to gather necessary information, clarify loan options, interest rates, terms, and collateral requirements, including ancillary products.
  • Utilize credit approval guidelines to assess and process loan applications, ensuring compliance with loan policies.
  • Collect all required documentation for loan processing, including approval prerequisites.
  • Respond courteously and professionally to inquiries from members and potential members regarding loan statuses, current rates, terms, and related information.
  • Assist in managing credit union loans by processing payoff requests, extensions, revolving credit advances, lien satisfactions, and necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of loan disbursements, transfers, and other transactions daily.
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge to effectively explain, refer, originate, and complete any offerings provided by the credit union.
  • Attend required meetings; maintain punctuality and adherence to the facility's dress code.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of full-time experience in loan servicing, processing, collections, or equivalent experience in cross-selling financial products.
  • Familiarity with credit union deposit and loan products, including mortgages, with the ability to promote and cross-sell effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to conduct professional and productive interviews with loan applicants, including providing alternative recommendations when necessary.
  • Consistently deliver courteous and positive member service.
