Role of Juniper

Juniper, our flagship direct-to-patient software solution, supports our mission by:
  • Encouraging and empowering research participation;
  • Assisting research administrators with study and data management;
  • Connecting researchers directly to data via the Broad's cloud-based Terra platform.

Position Summary

We seek a skilled and driven product leader who will be responsible for synthesizing the diverse needs and objectives of various stakeholders into a compelling product platform. This individual will collaborate closely with our engineering lead and cross-functional scientific teams while promoting the growth and development of Juniper.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with CMI leadership to establish a strategic vision for Juniper.
  • Articulate and communicate product vision, strategy, roadmap, and plans to both internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain and evolve user personas and journeys.
  • Apply best practices in software product development to create a premier research platform that serves patients and researchers for years to come.
  • Engage with scientists, clinicians, research participants, and other stakeholders to gather insights on their needs.
  • Work with the information security team to ensure our product roadmap aligns with the complex regulatory landscape surrounding health information.
  • Advocate for CMI's software products within the rare disease community.
  • Inspire development teams and stakeholders with clear and relevant product vision statements.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions and operational excellence as a member of CMI's leadership team.
  • Foster a strong Product team culture through effective planning, coaching, and training.
  • Collaborate with business development and customer delivery teams on market strategies.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to support a productive engineering team with defined priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify and track metrics for software products, ensuring mechanisms are in place for data collection and iterative refinement.
  • Manage relationships with partner institutions to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Significant experience in commercial product development.
  • Proven success in managing direct-to-patient software products and collaborating with Agile Engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with user experience and web design principles.
  • Experience in academic, laboratory, or research settings is preferred.

Preferred:
  • Demonstrated success in team management, including hiring, performance management, and team culture development.
