Program Overview:
The Orange County Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) located in Fountain Valley caters to children and non-minor dependents. The clients may present with mental health challenges, behavioral issues, and emotional disturbances. Our mission is to deliver comprehensive services aimed at facilitating family reunification or transitioning clients to foster care within a six-month timeframe following admission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Sciences
- Valid Child Development Teaching Permit
- Completion of 12 semester units in relevant coursework
- Prior experience in related fields
- Minimum age requirement of 21
- Valid California driver's license and certifications in CPR/First Aid and Pro-ACT
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent supervision and assistance to residents
- Utilize Relational Approach techniques to exemplify appropriate conduct
- Document interactions in accordance with established guidelines
- Conduct safety checks and implement necessary precautions
- Engage in team meetings and fulfill related responsibilities
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Skills in de-escalation and crisis management
- Capacity to perform effectively in high-pressure situations
- Aptitude for building rapport with clients and their families
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Familiarity with the child welfare system
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to drive and travel as necessary
- Ability to operate safely with sufficient sensory perception
- Capacity to lift and carry specified weights
- Regular engagement in sitting, standing, climbing, and walking activities
