We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team at Peckham Industries. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Safety Assessments: Lead and conduct regular safety assessments at all operations to identify hazards and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate Incident Reporting: Facilitate the reporting and investigation of incidents, near-misses, and good catches to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all employees, subcontractors, and contract truck haulers comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop Safety Training Content: Develop and deliver safety training content to employees, including new hire, task, and refresher training.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis: Lead discussions to develop incident root cause analysis and facilitate the implementation of solutions.
  • Network and Collaborate: Network with national and regional safety and health associations and councils to bring best practices back to Peckham Industries.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in safety, construction, and/or manufacturing industries, with OSHA, MSHA, IH, or similar certifications.
  • Communication and Coaching Skills: Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to coach and teach employees at all levels.
  • Initiative and Problem-Solving: Ability to take initiative and work through difficult situations independently, balancing member safety, compliance, and productivity.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and ability to learn new software applications.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires extensive travel to operations throughout New York state, primarily based on business needs. The job will require frequent walking, bending, or standing as necessary, as well as driving.
