The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Enforcement Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our Compliance Section, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of offshore facilities and operations to identify potential safety and environmental hazards.
- Enforce compliance with federal regulations and industry standards to prevent accidents and protect the environment.
- Collaborate with senior employees to plan and schedule inspections, and provide expert advice on safety and environmental issues.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent safety and environmental incidents, and provide training to operators and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in safety and environmental regulations, and provide guidance to colleagues on best practices and emerging trends.
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
- At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
- Proven experience working with production process equipment and associated safety systems of offshore oil and gas facilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with operators, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks.
- A competitive salary range of $84,366 - $109,673 per annum.
