Sound Physicians is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead our Emergency Medicine team at Aiken Regional Medical Center and the ER at Sweetwater. As a Regional Medical Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of community emergency medicine, including coverage for our 30-bed emergency department and a 10-bed free-standing emergency department in North Augusta, Georgia.
About the Role:
- Manage and lead a team of 16 physicians and 9 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a collaborative and cohesive environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, quality, and safety in the emergency department.
- Collaborate with hospital committees, including credentials, medical executive, sepsis, peer review, and citizenship committees.
- Provide on-shift interaction with colleagues and consultants to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the emergency department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, radiology, and laboratory, to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Provide educational opportunities for APP students and internal and family medicine residents.
