The Product Development Specialist will support product development, reformulation, and process manufacturing from concept to commercialization. This role will collaborate with various teams, providing expertise in product and process development for new products, quality improvements, and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development, reformulation, and process improvement of formulas for various product forms, collaborating with PD staff on pilot and scale-up batches.
  • Conduct bench trials and physical evaluations, collect data for material approvals, and prepare/approve Master Batch Records and Change Control Requests.
  • Train and supervise manufacturing associates and product development technicians, ensuring adherence to cGMP processes and supporting new process implementations.
  • Develop new formulations for active raw materials and work with new equipment to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Operations teams, monitor initial production batches, and compile stability data summaries.
  • Maintain professional development by attending expos and conferences, effectively communicate across departments, and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in chemistry, food science, life sciences, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in product development of food, dietary supplements, or related products, including dough, confectionery, or pet treats (experience in animal feed/animal health is a plus).
  • Experience in a cGMP environment with a solid understanding of cGMP principles and requirements.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
